Every photograph on the demonstration items is openly licensed. None of them shows anything a real person owns — where no photo of the exact product exists under an open licence, the image shows that type of product instead.
Licences here permit commercial use: CC0, Public Domain Mark, CC BY and CC BY-SA. The last two require attribution, which is what this page is for; CC BY-SA also asks that adaptations be shared on the same terms, and these images are shown unmodified. Pictures whose subject did not match the item were rejected on sight and show a plain placeholder instead.
The photographs on this site are generated, not photographed
Every scene picture on Zwaptz — the objects on dark tables, the café at dusk, the hands exchanging parcels, the person sorting boxes — was made with an image model to a written brief. None is a photograph of a real event.
Nobody in them is a member, and nothing in them is for swap. Most show hands, a back, or a figure at a distance rather than a face, because a generated portrait presented as a user is an invented person recommending a product. Where a face does appear — as in the photograph below — it is generated too. It is not a customer, not a testimonial, and not anybody who has ever used Zwaptz.

Item photographs are handled separately, and there are three kinds. A real listing shows what its owner uploaded. Most seeded examples show an openly licensed picture of that kind of thing, credited in the table below. Six show a generated picture instead, listed underneath it — there was no honest licensed photograph available, and an empty tile or a picture of the wrong object is worse than a stated stand-in.
None of the generated ones depicts a particular collectible. They were briefed to show the kind of object without the article: a grading slab whose label is blank, a vinyl figure with no face you could name, a sealed box worn back to plain card. Every seeded item is marked example value on the item itself, whichever kind of picture it carries.
The five generated item pictures
- Magic: The Gathering Black Lotus (played)
- “An old trading card sealed in a rigid acrylic grading slab, plain patterned back facing up, blank centre panel, no lettering anywhere.” The previous picture showed a different card entirely.
- Funko Pop Grail: Metallic Batman (#01)
- “A stylised vinyl figure with an oversized round head and two plain black oval eyes, beside a window box worn to blank card.” No picture at all before this.
- Star Wars Kenner Boba Fett (1979, loose)
- “A small 1970s plastic action figure in weathered off-white and olive armour, paint rubbed back at the shoulders and boots, no insignia.” No picture at all before this.
- Patagonia Better Sweater Fleece
- “A knitted fleece jacket in faded oatmeal, folded flat, full-length zip, visibly pilled, no labels or logos.” No picture at all before this.
- LEGO Star Wars UCS Millennium Falcon (sealed)
- “A large flat cardboard box in taut shrink wrap, its print abstracted to flat blocks of blue and grey with no legible title.” The previous picture was shot on a near-white background.
- Charizard VMAX (2021)
- “A holographic trading card sealed in a clear rigid grading slab, its label panel left blank, resting on a dark textured surface.” It was in neither list — not credited as licensed, not declared as generated — while this page said five. The owner confirmed on 8 September 2026 that it is generated, so it is recorded here rather than left unaccounted for. The previous picture on that listing was a stock photograph of five sealed card holders, packaging printed “Card not included”.
